This set of antique Japanese wooden serving trays consists of seven pieces crafted in solid stained wood, produced in Japan during the Taishō to early Showa period. Their stackable design reflects the practical nature of early 20th-century Japanese domestic objects.

This type of Japanese serving tray set was used in everyday life for serving food, tea or small objects, with a compact stackable format allowing easy storage.

The construction is lightweight and precise, with a wooden structure finished using staining and protective sealing, offering depth of tone without the thickness of traditional lacquer. The raised edges and clean joinery reflect careful craftsmanship adapted to daily use.

The surface shows a soft patina, with wear along edges and visible marks that highlight its age. These qualities align naturally with wabi-sabi aesthetics.

In contemporary interiors, these trays function as both practical and decorative objects within Japandi, minimalist or rustic interiors, suitable for serving, organizing or styling.
