Antique Central European folk art cabinet made of solid pine wood and dated 1814, as indicated by the painted inscription on the upper cornice. Originating from Central Europe, cabinets of this type were an essential part of rural household furniture and were traditionally used for storing clothing, linens and domestic textiles.
The piece features a robust structure with a central paneled door and a practical interior storage space. Its exterior is richly decorated with hand-painted polychrome folk decoration combining green, red and ochre tones. The front panels display stylized floral motifs and ornamental geometric patterns, characteristic of traditional folk furniture from regions such as Austria, Hungary or southern Germany. The upper frieze preserves the original painted inscription with a name and date, a common feature in rural furniture that was often produced as part of a wedding dowry or an important domestic piece.
