This antique beer garden table (Bierzelt) in pine wood features a long solid pine top over X-shaped folding legs in green-painted steel. It originates from Germany, from the mid-twentieth century, when long folding tables were a standard piece in outdoor beer gardens, patronal festivals and popular gatherings.
The Biertisch — beer table — belongs to the same programme as the Festzeltgarnitur set: solid pine tops, folding metal structure and long proportions for seating many guests. Produced in series in Germany from the 1950s, this typology remains the international standard for outdoor beer gardens and has become a piece of inspiration for contemporary hospitality furniture.
The top is built with three wide pine boards joined by metal cross-rails on the underside. The legs are X-shaped folding steel sections, painted in original green, with steel hinges and supports. The table measures 194 × 51 × 77 cm and folds flat for storage and transport without tools. The metal structure keeps its green paint with light use marks.
The pine of the top keeps a warm natural patina, with stains, service marks and mug rings as honest traces of continuous use. The surface bears no added varnish and shows the natural figure of the grain with soft chromatic variations. The pine knots are visible. The metal structure presents small oxidation marks in areas of contact with the ground.
With its 194 cm length and robust character, this table works on terraces, in gardens, industrial lofts, contemporary rural dining rooms and hospitality spaces. Its folding character makes it a very versatile piece for events and projects. It suits contemporary rustic, industrial, mid-century and brocante interiors.
