This antique industrial stool in pine wood and iron is an industrial seat with a tubular iron frame and a pine slatted seat. It originates from Central Europe, from the mid-twentieth century, within industrial furniture production.
Industrial stools equipped factories, laboratories and production spaces, where a sturdy, easily maintained seat was sought. Their mixed iron-and-wood construction answered to intensive use.
The frame is iron, with reinforcing stretchers at the base and a seat of pine slats fixed to the structure. The construction is firm and the whole is stable.
The patina is lived-in: the frame keeps iron of dark patina, with no paint, and a seat of warm reddish tone. The surface tells its story of use with no restoration to mask it.
For its cubic format and low height, it serves as a low stool, a small side table or a footrest. It fits industrial, vintage and eclectic interiors, where it brings functional character and an honest patina.
