This antique folding garden table in wood and iron is a bistro table with a round slatted top and a folding iron base. It originates from Central Europe, from the mid-twentieth century, within the tradition of garden and terrace furniture.
Folding garden tables served on terraces, patios and cafés, where their folding base allowed easy storage. Their mixed construction answered to outdoor use.
The top is made of pine slats arranged in a circle, set on a folding iron base with crossed braces. The folding system works and the structure is stable once opened.
The patina is lived-in: the wood shows traces of paint and marked weathering, and the iron keeps its stabilised rust. The surface tells its story of outdoor use.
Today it serves as a terrace side table, a café table or a rustic accent piece indoors. It fits garden, rustic and vintage settings, where it brings character and an authentic patina.
