Chest of drawers in stripped pine, originally from central Europe and dated to the early twentieth century. A piece of stylistic transition, sitting between traditional rustic furniture and contemporary stripped aesthetics, representative of the trend of rejuvenating antique pieces popular across Europe in the first half of the twentieth century.
It is built in solid pine with frame-and-panel construction on the sides and fronts, organised in several levels of drawers. The joinery details — visible dovetails and traditional joints — ensure structural solidity. The contained height (106 cm) provides an elegant silhouette. The pulls, of wood or ceramic, integrate discretely into the composition.
The patina shows the characteristic stripped finish: the wood surface displays clear areas where sanding has revealed the natural wood, combined with patinated tones that preserve traces of older colour. This effect — legible, not invasive — preserves authenticity of ageing without saturation. The sheen is soft and matte, and the structure is completely sound.
