Antique Japanese multi-drawer cabinet (hikidashi-dansu) crafted in Japanese ash and dating to the late Taish\u014d to early Showa period, circa 1920\u20131940.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Furniture of this type was commonly used in shops, offices and workshops to organize documents, tools and small working materials. The numerous drawers allowed efficient classification and storage.<\/p>\n

The cabinet is constructed in Japanese ash (Fraxinus mandshurica var. japonica)<\/strong> combined with plywood elements<\/strong>, reflecting the transition to modern furniture techniques in early twentieth-century Japan.<\/p>\n

The design is functional and understated, featuring ten drawers of varying sizes<\/strong> fitted with metal handles. Some hardware has been replaced over time, showing the practical life of the piece.<\/p>\n

The surface retains a warm aged patina with visible signs of use<\/strong>, adding authenticity and character.<\/p>\n
