Provient du <em>Xinjiang<\/em>, dans le ouest de la Chine, de la fin du XIXe si\u00e8cle, o\u00f9 le pin local \u00e9tait travaill\u00e9 selon l&#8217;assemblage \u00e0 tenon et mortaise sans clous, avec des fronts couverts de sculpture en bas-relief.<\/p>\n<p>Dans les maisons rurales du ouest de la Chine, les buffets bas sculpt\u00e9s occupaient la pi\u00e8ce principale et servaient \u00e0 la fois comme meuble de rangement et comme \u00e9l\u00e9ment ornemental. La densit\u00e9 de la sculpture en faisait la pi\u00e8ce visuelle centrale de l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur, \u00e9quivalente au r\u00f4le que jouait dans d&#8217;autres r\u00e9gions la peinture polychrome sur laque.<\/p>\n<p>Construit en pin massif selon l&#8217;assemblage traditionnel \u00e0 tenon et mortaise, sans clous. Le front articule cinq portes \u00e0 poign\u00e9es circulaires de fer en loquet, chacune r\u00e9solue en panneau \u00e9vid\u00e9 \u00e0 cadre moulur\u00e9 et sculpt\u00e9e en bas-relief de croisillons g\u00e9om\u00e9triques et de motifs floraux quadrilob\u00e9s. La ceinture inf\u00e9rieure poursuit le langage sculpt\u00e9 avec une grecque de m\u00e9andre et de croisillons. Le plateau sup\u00e9rieur se termine en extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s lob\u00e9es saillantes, caract\u00e9ristiques du mobilier rural du nord.<\/p>\n<p>La patine conserve le ton chaud du pin patin\u00e9, clair et lumineux, avec la sculpture en bas-relief d\u00e9finie par la lumi\u00e8re rasante. La brillance est mate. Les surfaces pr\u00e9sentent des marques, des taches et des traces de l&#8217;usage domestique prolong\u00e9, int\u00e9gr\u00e9es au bois. La structure reste solide et les ferrures d&#8217;origine en place.<\/p>\n<p>S&#8217;int\u00e8gre avec naturel dans des int\u00e9rieurs wabi-sabi, rustiques contemporains ou \u00e9clectiques. Fonctionne comme buffet de salon, banc-buffet de grande longueur ou console horizontale.
