Provient du Gansu, dans le nord-ouest de la Chine, du d\u00e9but du XXe si\u00e8cle, o\u00f9 le pin local \u00e9tait travaill\u00e9 selon l&#8217;assemblage \u00e0 tenon et mortaise sans clous, laqu\u00e9 en vermillon sur le front et les c\u00f4t\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le corridor du Hexi, les buffets bas longs laqu\u00e9s en vermillon occupaient la pi\u00e8ce principale comme meubles auxiliaires et comme \u00e9l\u00e9ment chromatique structurel de l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur. Le rouge, couleur de bonne fortune dans la culture chinoise, marquait les espaces domestiques de caract\u00e8re familial et c\u00e9r\u00e9moniel.<\/p>\n<p>Construit en pin massif selon l&#8217;assemblage traditionnel \u00e0 tenon et mortaise, sans clous. Le caisson articule trois tiroirs centraux \u00e0 poign\u00e9es de fer en loquet, un compartiment ouvert au-dessus des tiroirs et deux portes lat\u00e9rales qui occupent toute la hauteur du meuble, \u00e9galement \u00e0 poign\u00e9es de fer. Les c\u00f4t\u00e9s sont r\u00e9solus en plaque lat\u00e9rale massive, sans pieds d\u00e9gag\u00e9s. La laque vermillon couvre le front et les lat\u00e9raux.<\/p>\n<p>La patine conserve le vermillon d&#8217;origine, aujourd&#8217;hui plus sombre et profond par l&#8217;oxydation naturelle des pigments au cours d&#8217;un si\u00e8cle. La brillance est mate. La surface pr\u00e9sente des pertes douces, un craquel\u00e9 fin et des abrasions dans les zones de contact qui laissent voir le bois en dessous. La structure reste solide.<\/p>\n<p>S&#8217;int\u00e8gre avec naturel dans des int\u00e9rieurs minimalistes avec accent chromatique, wabi-sabi ou rustiques contemporains. Fonctionne comme meuble bas de salon sous t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, banc-buffet dans un grand vestibule ou console horizontale face \u00e0 un canap\u00e9 long.
