Ce buffet ancien<\/strong> en pin massif<\/em> rassemble des panneaux sculpt\u00e9s \u00e0 entrelacs courbes<\/em>, des \u00e9coin\u00e7ons d\u00e9coratifs et une serrure en fer forg\u00e9 en forme de feuille stylis\u00e9e<\/em>. La patine est dense et sombre, marqu\u00e9e honn\u00eatement par un usage domestique prolong\u00e9. Chine, vers 1900.<\/p>\n

Dans le nord de la Chine, les buffets de hauteur interm\u00e9diaire se pla\u00e7aient dans le salon principal ou dans des pi\u00e8ces secondaires pour ranger effets, v\u00eatements ou ustensiles de cuisine. La menuiserie rurale du Shanxi a maintenu pendant le XXe si\u00e8cle les formes et les d\u00e9tails sculpt\u00e9s h\u00e9rit\u00e9s du r\u00e9pertoire Qing.<\/p>\n

La construction est l’habituelle : structure en pin massif, fa\u00e7ade \u00e0 tiroir sup\u00e9rieur sur panneaux sculpt\u00e9s, assemblages en mortaise et tenon, plateau aux bords l\u00e9g\u00e8rement moulur\u00e9s et ceinture inf\u00e9rieure travaill\u00e9e. La quincaillerie \u2014 plaque de serrure, anneaux et charni\u00e8res \u2014 est d’origine en fer forg\u00e9.<\/p>\n

La patine actuelle conserve une couche sombre dense avec une usure localis\u00e9e dans les zones les plus manipul\u00e9es. Le d\u00e9tail sculpt\u00e9 des \u00e9coin\u00e7ons et des panneaux du tiroir conserve son relief et sa nettet\u00e9. Sans restaurations invasives.<\/p>\n

Il fonctionne bien dans un salon, une salle \u00e0 manger ou un bureau. Sa hauteur interm\u00e9diaire permet de l’utiliser comme buffet pour la vaisselle, comme meuble de rangement ou comme appui d\u00e9coratif. L’entrelacs sculpt\u00e9 apporte du caract\u00e8re sans tomber dans l’exc\u00e8s ornemental.<\/p>\n
