Il rassemble <em>quatre tiroirs sup\u00e9rieurs<\/em>, un corps central \u00e0 deux portes et une ceinture inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 panneaux sculpt\u00e9s. Shanxi, Chine, vers 1930.<\/p>\n<p>Le rouge intense \u2014 traditionnellement obtenu \u00e0 partir de pigments d&#8217;oxyde de fer ou d&#8217;autres terres min\u00e9rales sur pr\u00e9paration \u00e0 l&#8217;huile \u2014 s&#8217;appliquait sur les meubles les plus repr\u00e9sentatifs du salon principal : symbole de fortune et de statut dans la culture domestique du nord de la Chine. Conserver la peinture d&#8217;origine apr\u00e8s pr\u00e8s de cent ans d&#8217;usage est exceptionnel et multiplie l&#8217;int\u00e9r\u00eat patrimonial de la pi\u00e8ce.<\/p>\n<p>La structure en pin massif articule quatre tiroirs sup\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 panneaux sculpt\u00e9s individuellement, deux portes centrales \u00e0 cadres moulur\u00e9s, int\u00e9rieur avec \u00e9tag\u00e8re interm\u00e9diaire et ceinture inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 cinq panneaux sculpt\u00e9s. La quincaillerie est d&#8217;origine en fer forg\u00e9. Les assemblages sont traditionnels en mortaise et tenon.<\/p>\n<p>La patine de la peinture rouge montre l&#8217;usure honn\u00eate du temps : tons plus p\u00e2les dans les zones de frottement, profondeur rouge intense dans les zones prot\u00e9g\u00e9es, marques sombres de l&#8217;usage. Le plateau conserve le bois naturel vieilli, contraste chromatique avec le corps peint.<\/p>\n<p>Il fonctionne bien comme pi\u00e8ce centrale de salon, salle \u00e0 manger ou entr\u00e9e ample.
