Ce buffet\u00a0en pin massif<\/em> <\/strong>articule une fa\u00e7ade utilitaire de trois tiroirs sup\u00e9rieurs et deux portes inf\u00e9rieures<\/em>, avec poign\u00e9es-anneaux en fer forg\u00e9 et panneaux encadr\u00e9s de moulures simples. Shandong, Chine, vers 1950.<\/p>\n

La province du Shandong, sur la c\u00f4te orientale chinoise, a maintenu durant la premi\u00e8re moiti\u00e9 du XXe si\u00e8cle une menuiserie domestique fonctionnelle, h\u00e9riti\u00e8re du r\u00e9pertoire Qing mais \u00e0 la charge ornementale moindre que celle du Shanxi. Ces buffets se pla\u00e7aient dans les cuisines, les offices ou des pi\u00e8ces secondaires pour le rangement domestique.<\/p>\n

La construction est honn\u00eate et robuste: pin massif en structure et fa\u00e7ades, assemblages traditionnels en mortaise et tenon, panneaux flottants en cadre pour absorber les mouvements du bois. Les tiroirs sup\u00e9rieurs glissent sur des coulisses en bois et l’armoire inf\u00e9rieure int\u00e8gre une \u00e9tag\u00e8re interm\u00e9diaire.<\/p>\n

La finition actuelle est d’une tonalit\u00e9 noyer profonde, dense et uniforme, avec une usure naturelle dans les zones de frottement. La pi\u00e8ce ne conserve pas de restes de peinture appliqu\u00e9e: l’aspect actuel est celui du pin teint\u00e9 et vieilli. La quincaillerie d’origine maintient sa patine de fer vieilli.<\/p>\n

Il fonctionne exceptionnellement bien dans une cuisine ou un office moderne comme meuble de rangement, dans une entr\u00e9e comme console \u00e0 tiroirs ou dans un bureau comme armoire d’appoint. Son \u00e9chelle verticale (105 cm de hauteur) le rend compatible avec des espaces verticaux r\u00e9duits.<\/p>\n
