Il provient du nord de la Chine, de la fin de la dynastie Qing, o\u00f9 le pin \u00e9tait travaill\u00e9 selon un assemblage traditionnel \u00e0 tenons et mortaises.<\/p>\n<p>Le mobilier peint chinois \u00e0 palette claire \u2014 fonds cr\u00e8me et blanc cass\u00e9 \u2014 caract\u00e9risait le corridor du nord-ouest au XIX\u1d49 si\u00e8cle et au d\u00e9but du XX\u1d49. La palette haute permettait de composer des bouquets floraux \u00e0 l&#8217;encre rose et verte au traitement l\u00e9ger, presque aquarelle. Les buffets \u00e0 deux portes avec tiroirs inf\u00e9rieurs associaient rangement fonctionnel et pr\u00e9sence d\u00e9corative dans la pi\u00e8ce principale.<\/p>\n<p>Le corps est construit en pin massif. La fa\u00e7ade combine deux portes identiques \u00e0 cadre p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique et panneau central peint, sur deux tiroirs inf\u00e9rieurs align\u00e9s. Les ferrures sont en fer forg\u00e9 en anneau. La structure pr\u00e9sente des flancs massifs termin\u00e9s sur des pieds droits. L&#8217;assemblage est traditionnel chinois \u00e0 tenons et mortaises, sans visserie.<\/p>\n<p>Le d\u00e9cor peint des panneaux montre des <em>compositions florales<\/em> en roses et verts sur fond cr\u00e8me, dispos\u00e9es en bouquets libres au traitement l\u00e9ger et v\u00e9g\u00e9tation de fond. Les fleurs apparaissent sans cadre, et l&#8217;ensemble \u00e9voque un registre d\u00e9coratif plus intime que celui du mobilier laqu\u00e9 classique. La palette m\u00eale blanc cr\u00e8me, roses, verts et trac\u00e9s noirs subtils.<\/p>\n<p>La patine pr\u00e9sente un vieillissement doux. La peinture cr\u00e8me s&#8217;est us\u00e9e sur les zones de contact laissant voir le pin en tons chauds. Les pigments floraux restent adoucis mais les compositions restent lisibles. La surface du plateau sup\u00e9rieur montre le dessin naturel du pin avec de l\u00e9g\u00e8res marques d&#8217;usage et de petites fentes longitudinales.<\/p>\n<p>Par sa longueur de 159 cm et sa hauteur contenue de 83 cm, ce buffet fonctionne bien dans les salons, salles \u00e0 manger et couloirs. Comme meuble bas pour t\u00e9l\u00e9viseur, sa hauteur permet de fixer l&#8217;\u00e9cran au-dessus.
