Il provient du nord de la Chine, de la fin de la dynastie Qing, o\u00f9 le pin \u00e9tait travaill\u00e9 selon un assemblage traditionnel \u00e0 tenons et mortaises.<\/p>\n<p>Le mobilier domestique chinois du nord travaillait avec des typologies stables tout au long de la dynastie Qing et du d\u00e9but de la R\u00e9publique : buffets compacts \u00e0 deux portes, flancs massifs, traverse basse simple. La variante sans peinture ni laque ajout\u00e9e \u2014 seulement bois et ferrures \u2014 appartient au registre vernaculaire plus sobre, o\u00f9 l&#8217;expression repose enti\u00e8rement sur le dessin naturel du pin.<\/p>\n<p>Le corps est construit en pin massif. La fa\u00e7ade se compose de deux portes identiques \u00e0 cadre p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique profil\u00e9 et plateau central en r\u00e9serve. Sous les portes, une traverse basse ferme la composition. Les ferrures sont des poign\u00e9es circulaires en fer forg\u00e9 fix\u00e9es par rivets apparents. L&#8217;assemblage est traditionnel chinois \u00e0 tenons et mortaises, sans visserie.<\/p>\n<p>La patine conserve un ton clair d\u00e9lav\u00e9, caract\u00e9ristique du pin expos\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;usage continu et \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re naturelle. Les zones les plus expos\u00e9es \u2014 ar\u00eates sup\u00e9rieures, angles, pourtour des portes \u2014 ont acquis un ton plus chaud par le frottement. La surface du plateau sup\u00e9rieur montre le dessin naturel du veinage avec de petites fentes longitudinales et les n\u0153uds du pin bien visibles.<\/p>\n<p>Par sa hauteur de 88 cm et sa longueur contenue de 125 cm, ce buffet s&#8217;int\u00e8gre aux salons moyens, salles \u00e0 manger, entr\u00e9es et chambres. Il fonctionne comme rangement fonctionnel, comme appui d\u00e9coratif ou comme meuble bas dans les pi\u00e8ces interm\u00e9diaires.
